Mio Sakamoto |
Why Mio Series?
The name Mio came from a small play with the word Mia (from Mia Fey). As it was with the previous series (Hayase Series), there wasn't meant to have a "poster character". The name was short, simple and easy to remember (and to pronunciate).
The idea for a poster character came when the character Mio Sakamoto appeared from Strike Witches. She had a simple design and her behavior and mind was close to some of PWLib Mio Series' ideals: "Never give up, no matter how bad things are".
As it was noticed, "Her original design wasn't suited for a poster character of a professional engine", so some modifications were applied to her base design, while most of her features were kept intact. Her strong personality was kept (her secure, organizing, leadership mind), as well her base clothing style. Her magical factor was removed (so no dog ears, no magic eye), but her classic point, the eyepatch, was kept.
Mio Sakamoto strongly represents the will of PWLib to never give up, to never stop its ideals no matter how bleak the situation is.
She will be used as the poster character for all PWLib versions starting with 1.2 that keeps the "Mio Series" seal.
